CLIMATE CLASS is an autonomous and interdisciplinary group of students and teachers at UdK Berlin. Their goal is to politicize the university and translate the climate crisis into design practice.

In the summer semester of 2020, the students worked on two themes. First, they described their growth-oriented reality and intertwined it with growth-critical alternatives (degrowth). The aim was to question their own values and to experiment creatively with new positions. In the second part of the semester, the students sharpened their perception of fake sustainability (greenwashing) and reacted to concrete examples with interventions in public and digital space.

The participants came from different fields of study, such as visual communication, architecture and product design. The seminar was conceived and led by assistant professor Pascal Kress and students from the CLIMATE CLASS.
